A new training spot

We took her out to a new, close spot next to the dome. I was really disappointed when a guy and son came past with a loose dog, and Amika had a reaction in the crate in the car. That set me up to feel frustrated, but we took her out anyway.

First I let her finish her tantrum in the car ignoring her until the dog had gone and she got quiet. Then I did relaxation stuff with her in the crate for a minute or two. She came out hyped but operant (just). Managed some reorienting and she was able to control herself somewhat while my partner walked back to us.

He said I need to MOVE and act like I know where I’m going. It worked well. My main problem was being so stressed that I couldn’t play GMAB properly, forgetting the bit about dismissing her to sniff. But she did get rewards for reorienting, which is good. We kept it short.

I was so badly stressed that I cried once home, but I know I have to keep going. Will go earlier now that I know school gets out at 2.30pm.
