Getting connected

We went late today, arriving at 5.45. Same deal, but I had fun! I had intended a rather short session, but spent more time, only just getting to the gate as the guy was shutting the gate!!

We got dressed in the car. She wanted to just be done with it and get out of there, so a fair amount of whining, but not loud or over the top. She did relax.

GMAB went well, and I had her go to her mat, called her name and ran backwards, then back to the mat. Did this a few times and then started doing some GMAB before going back to the mat. Then I gave the “c’mon” and walked away with her. We actually did about 2-3m of “real” head-up watching me heeling. I did a lot of c/t during this, but know my rate could be a lot higher. We covered more distance than we have before doing GMAB / reorients.

She still isn’t doing whiplash like she needs to. She has the idea that she’ll get back to me when she is done with whatever smell she is studying. I think I need to start turning away when she does this, so she learns that there is a limited response window. Now that I think about it, I need to get her really pushing the asking for attention more, rather than just rewarding every time she looks at me. She needs to work at getting my attention.
