Rainy day at the park

We had more time today, and we also managed to time it between showers. Predictably, no one was picnic-ing in the rain, and the ducks looked happy grazing. We did “more of same” with dressing her in the car, asking for downs and giving pats and the occasional treat. I left the lead at home and had to sub the sledding gangline. Not great as she seemed more comfortable pulling on it (stretchy, no jerk at the end).

I didn’t sit down any, so it was GMAB and orienting around the car. I also got out the mat and gave lots of treats for getting on it a few times. I got in a few reorients by saying her name. She is still too hyped for my liking, and taking skin off my fingers during treat delivery at times. She is looking more and sniffing less, but I can see she wants be be “over there”. She did do well when it was time to go back in the car, repeatedly orienting to me on the way. If we can get into that, I can start contemplating the long line. Just gotta work on whiplash more.
